Understanding Ranges & Frame Codes

Understanding Ranges & Frame Codes

We've made it easy to understand the frame codes, but first it is needed to understand the ranges themselves.

There are 9 "ranges", divided into 4 categories available.

Women
Women's Acetate Colourful (WAC)
Women's Acetate Neutral (WAN)
Women's Metal (WM)

Men
Men's Acetate (MA)
Men's Metal (MM)

Ellie < These are for the "older crowd" practices. Limited quantities for practices who need more "golden oldies"
Ellie Acetate (EA)
Ellie Metal (EM)

Kanu < These are for our "younger crowd" practices. A bit more "risky" frames; also limited quantities.
Kanu Acetate (KA)
Kanu Metal (KM)

When you've logged into your Peak Frames profile, and if you look on the frames themselves, you'll see all frames have a code that is divided into 4 "segments" as in the example below.

The 4 parts are laid out as follows:

  1. Range name & number : The letters will indicate the range they are from. In this case, KA is Kanu Acetate. The number is the number the specific frame is in this range.
  2. This simply indicates our supplier. This is an internal reference, but helps to create a better indexing system.
  3. This is the month and year the specific frame was purchased. In this particular case it was bought in September 2024.
  4. The last letter is the frame size. We deliberately did not put it on the dummy lenses to prevent clients from being "pre-influenced" in their choices. The sizing will be on both the temples & the RFID tags.

The frame sizing was categorised with the following PD's:
Small         <= 49
Medium     50-54
Large        <=55
