Each Optique employee receives the following eye care benefits from Optique during his/her employment:
New Employee:
• One free pair of frames and lenses post probation (after 3 months) from his or her starting date, per year, at no cost to the employee.
• Thereafter, the renewal of the benefit will be 9 months later / on the anniversary of his/her starting date, as an existing employee.
• If the employee wishes to purchase a second pair, a 50% discount on the recommended retail price will be applicable.
• If the employee wishes to purchase any additional pairs in complement to the second pair, a 10% discount on the recommended retail price will be applicable.
Existing Employee:
• One free pair of frames and lenses on the anniversary of his/her starting date, per year, at no cost to the employee.
• If the employee wishes to purchase a second pair, a 50% discount on the recommended retail price will be applicable.
• If the employee wishes to purchase any additional pairs in complement to the second pair, a 10% discount on the recommended retail price will be applicable.
Immediate family of Employee (spouse, children, brother, sister, mother, or father):
• One pair of frames and lenses every two years with a 20% discount (if settled 100% upfront) or a 10% discount if paid off over 6 months on the recommended retail price will be applicable.
• A second pair will be at a full retail price where normal rules apply. (10% discount of settled 100% upfront).
• Limited to 2 family members, per employee, per year.
• Boyfriend, girlfriend, or fiancé are excluded from this benefit.
Frame:
• Any one Optique Frame.
• 12 Months Breakage Cover warranty applicable (same frame, lenses, extras, and prescription).Lenses:
• Any GRID lenses, as prescribed by the optometrists and according to prescribing guidelines.
• Non-grid lenses are not included unless approved by the owner by request. In such a case, the employee will be responsible for the net cost (incl VAT) of the lenses.
• 12 Months Breakage Cover warranty applicable (same frame, lenses, extras, and
prescription).
Lens Extras:
• Only one extra pair is allowed per pair.
• If more than one is ordered, in such a case, the employee will be responsible for the nett cost (incl VAT) of the difference of the most expensive extra.
Contact Lenses and solutions:
• No discount is applicable.
Other:
• These benefits are not transferable or redeemable as a payout or retrospectively claimable.
• No rollover of benefits is allowed. Only available in a 12-month cycle, thereafter it will expire.
• The employer is not responsible for the maintenance, reminding, or enforcement of this benefit.
• No orders/employee benefits may be placed from January to March (except in the case of breakage cover) due to the seasonality and to prevent additional pressure on our suppliers.
Termination of employment:
In the case where the agreement of employment is terminated, the employer will prorate (over a period of 12 months) deduct the outstanding retail balance from the employee’s final remuneration payment. For example:
Employee’s Starting date Anniversary: 1 January
The employee received a new pair on the benefit scheme in January to the value of R2500.
The employee resigned on his/her last day of employment is 30 June 20xx.
The employer deducts 50% / R1250 from his or her final remuneration payment.
